Spring: Key Details

Spring (formerly known as SpringMove) is a UK-based property buying company that specialises in fast, chain-free home sales. Positioned as a direct buyer rather than a broker or middleman, the company offers sellers more certainty through guaranteed offers and a structured, professionally managed process.

Unlike many cash buying companies, Spring uses a multi-step valuation approach to provide homeowners with more accurate offers. Their valuation process typically includes independent estate agent valuations and a RICS survey before finalising an offer.

The brand also claims access to significant funding of up to £300 million, which allows it to complete purchases quickly, often within 7 to 28 days.

Spring aims to provide a flexible solution for sellers, particularly those who don't want the risk of dealing with broken chains or part-exchange scenarios.

On top of all that, to provide an added layer of protection and credibility, Spring is a member of the National Association of Property Buyers (NAPB) and The Property Ombudsman (TPO).

It's true that Spring holds a solid rating on Trustpilot, which, on the surface, is a positive sign. However, what worries us the most is the lack of presence on other major review platforms, such as Google or Feefo.

While this doesn’t necessarily indicate an issue, it does make it harder to get a fully rounded picture of customer experiences. So it is something worth keeping in mind when reviewing the feedback below, and when considering contacting Spring.

That said, let's get things starter with some of their most recent reviews.

In one of Spring’s most recent reviews on Trustpilot, Sue Samuels explains her satisfaction with the company:

Truly an amazing experience and Spring is a company I would throughly recommend using! From the first communication they have kept me updated, always been there on the end of the phone and email for any questions and reassurance, nothing was too much for them…

Sue Samuels on Spring

In another recent review, Jake Timpson, explains that he’s never had an issue getting into contact with Spring whenever he’s had an issue.

Amanda-Jayne is always available on the other end of the phone when needed, responds to emails very quickly, and is consistently professional.

Jake Timpson on Spring

And in yet another 5-star Trustpilot review, Scarlett Lawson explains that she too had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Spring.

I had fantastic communication throughout, all my questions were answered quickly and honestly and helped with a smooth transaction!

Scarlett Lawson on Spring

Meanwhile, here are two more positive reviews from March 2026.

Excellent service, great communication, helpful and polite. Up front with what they could offer and did as they promised, would definitely recommend and use them again

Ms Davies on Spring

I have found Springmove a great company to deal with. The part/ex offer was extremely favourable and not a million miles off the valuations i'd had from 3 separate estate agents. The customer service throughout was impeccable. Highly recommend.

T Clarke on Spring

But it can’t all be good… can it?

Spring Move promised an experience different to the other quick sell companies and failed to live up to their claims. They sit amongst all the other low-balling companies and spent a week wasting everybody’s time including our onward purchase chain. Our property was valued at £190k and had two accepted offers of £189k and £183k, both of which fell through due to first time buyers failing mortgage applications. The property next door to us sold 6 months ago for £185k in a non refurbished standard and is an identical replica of our house without the renovations we undertook. Spring Move valued our property at £180k and offered us £140k-£145k subject to survey. They know that our outstanding balance on the property is £152k and still thought it would be a good customer experience to offer below our equity amount.

Connor on Spring

While this review seems pretty bad on the surface, we should mention that it’s not unusual for quick sale companies to make offers 70% to 85% below market value, even when it’s below the customer’s outstanding mortgage balance. And secondly, it’s important to mention that Spring did respond to this review, and provided the customer with a fair, friendly, and professional explanation.

Meanwhile, in another 1-star review, Alison states:

Contacted them and never heard back from them aside from the automated email that was first received, sent follow up chaser after a few weeks and didn’t hear back to this either.

Alison on Spring

Aside from those reviews, Spring does have several other 1, 2, and 3-star reviews. But most of them are older from 2023-2024. And even in some of the most recent lower-rated 4-star reviews, most customers were still happy with the service overall.

Here’s what Gill Baines had to say:

Spring took the pressure off me dealing with the Estate agent on my behalf. They kept track of all involved in the chain and kept me informed all the way.

Gill Baines on Spring

And here’s another 4-star review from Teresa Long who commends the company on their communication.

Service and communication was good and advice clear.

Teresa Long on Spring

Is SpringMove Legitimate?

Yes, we do indeed believe that Spring is a legitimate business. They have a user-friendly and well-designed website. The site even seems to have recent activity. And theyalso  have a good deal of positive reviews on Trustpilot.

It’s true that they do not appear to have much of a presence on Google or Feefo.

But given that more than 81% of their Trustpilot reviews are 4- and 5-star, and that they respond to 100% of negative reviews, we conclude they are a professional and trustworthy business.

Have SpringMove Won Any Awards?

Spring has previously won industry recognition, including ‘Property Trader of the Year’ at the Property Investor Awards. They were also a Gold partner and sponsor of the WhatHouse? Awards in 2020.

That said, this recognition appears to date back several years, with no mention of more recent awards or achievements on their site.

What Services Does Spring Move Offer?

SpringMove is a Croydon-based cash house buyer, that promises a speedy sale and a completion date of the seller’s choice. The company also offers a handful of other helpful services, including:

  • Direct property purchasing with fast, chain-free sales
  • Flexible completion dates chosen by the seller
  • Part-exchange service to help fund a new property purchase
  • Chain repair solutions for failed or delayed property sales
  • Independent valuations and RICS survey before final offer
  • No upfront fees, with legal and selling costs covered
  • Dedicated property advisor to guide sellers through the process

How Much Below Market Value Do Spring Move Offer?

Spring typically pays up to 85% of market value, though it's not uncommon for a quick-sale company to offer as little as 75% of market value.

Here's some advice from our property expert Paul:

"'Most quick-sale companies, including Spring Move, operate within the 75-85% range of market value. This discount reflects the speed and convenience offered, as well as potential refurbishment costs. I advise sellers to consider whether the trade-off for speed is worth it based on their financial goals and timeline.”

How Does Spring Move Work?

Below is how Spring Move goes about buying your house:

  1. Inquiry - Once you make an inquiry, Spring requests estate agent valuations before they make their no-obligation cash offer.
  2. RICs Survey - Following this, Spring will arrange a detailed RICs survey, and once they have those results back, they will make you a guaranteed formal offer.
  3. Accept or Decline - If you accept the offer, you then choose your own move-out date, and Spring will complete the offer during that period.

Our studies have shown that properties sold via quick-sale companies typically sell for 70-85% of market value, with variations depending on location and demand. This aligns with SpringMoves stated offers, but it’s always advisable for homeowners to independently verify their property’s market value before proceeding with any sale.

The Pros And Cons Of Working With SpringMove

Like many similar cash buyers, working with SpringMove to sell your property has its advantages and disadvantages. Here are some of the pros and cons to consider:

The Pros

  • Quick sale: Spring's main goal is to help homeowners sell in a time frame that suits their needs. According to the website, the fastest time from offer to completion is 48 hours. However, it’s more likely that your home will be sold within 14-28 days.

  • Guaranteed sales: Because the company has over £300 million in guaranteed funding, there are no chains or conditional financing that can fall through. Once an offer is accepted by the seller, it's guaranteed to be seen through to the end.

  • Cash buyer: As a cash buyer, Spring will provide you with a competitive cash offer for your property. You won't need to deal with estate agents, banks, or low-ball offers.

  • Inclusive fees: Spring does not charge any extra fees. Their service fee is included directly in the sale of your home.

The Cons

  • Lower cash offer: In many cases, cash buyers will buy your property quickly. However, this often comes at the expense of accepting an offer below market value.

  • Limited reviews: Unlike some of the other cash buyers that we've reviewed in the past, Spring only has a few hundred reviews on TrustPilot, and they do not have any customer reviews on Google.

SpringMove vs Other Quick Sale Companies

Below, we’ve highlighted some of the key differences, such as average sale time, hidden fees and more, compared to other UK house buyers, such as Upstix, Home House Buyers, TheAdvisory or Express Offers

In our expert opinion, Spring Move sets itself apart with its strong regulatory framework and reputation.

However, when comparing companies, homeowners should assess additional factors like legal fee coverage, flexibility in negotiations, and transparency in valuations, which can vary significantly between providers.

More advice from our Property Expert Paul:

"When selling with SpringMove or any quick-sale company, I recommend verifying their regulatory status and financial proof upfront. SpringMove has proven funds and regulatory backing, but I’d still advise requesting their latest proof of funds statement and checking their current NAPB membership.

This way, you can be sure you're working with a legitimate buyer who can complete the sale within the promised timeframe."

Spring Move - Our Verdict

Spring stands out as one of the more structured and credible home-buying companies in the UK, operating as a direct buyer with access to significant funding and a clearly defined process. Its use of independent valuations, RICS surveys, and guaranteed offers gives it a more “institutional” feel compared to many competitors in the quick-sale space.

Moreover, customer feedback on Trustpilot is generally strong, with recent reviews indicating the company remains active and delivers consistent service.

Therefore, Spring appears to be a legitimate and trustworthy option for homeowners prioritising speed and certainty.

But in the end, as with any quick-sale company, sellers should carefully weigh the trade-off between convenience and price and always conduct their own due diligence before proceeding.
