SpringMove: Key Details

Founded in 2007, SpringMove was formerly called National Property Trade (NPT) and is now simply called Spring. It is a Croydon-based business that specialises in fast property sales across the UK. The company claims to have £300m in guaranteed funding, which enables them to complete sales quickly.

SpringMove has a mission to make home selling easier, faster and stress-free. As a result, they also offer assistance to clients who are stuck in a chain, or who want a part-exchange sale. In addition, once sellers have accepted their offer, their quick conveyancing methods, complete with a free RICS survey, means they can complete the sale within 7-14 days.

They are members of the NAPB and TPO and obtained New Homes Quality Code (NHQC) accreditation in recent years.

SpringMove Reviews

SpringMove is reviewed on several websites – we have highlighted some below.

Spring has a high rating on Trustpilot but unfortunately, there is an absence of reviews on all other popular review sites including Google, Feefo and Reviews.co.uk. This doesn’t work in their favour as most people prefer to research reviews over more than one platform to be sure of a fair and unbiased view of the company.

Still, the most recent reviews on Trustpilot do suggest that Spring is professional and prompt, and, true to their claim, made the sales process completely stress-free.

In a review on 19 February 2025 review, for instance, David Harrison revealed:

We recently used Spring to enable our elderly mother to move from a Character cottage to a Modern independent living McCarthy Stone apartment. Spring enabled us to do this quickly and without fuss allowing us up to 28 days to move out. Our property advisor Paul Martin helped us through the move by being a true professional, friendly, honest with realistic timescales and clearly explaining the process, answering all our questions. House moving can be stressful, but we have nothing but praise for Paul and the staff at Spring. Thank you!

However, it's important to note that not all customers were happy with the service they received. Some have voiced frustration over delays and unclear valuations.

Laura also highlights the efficiency and ease of her recent move, claiming:

"From our initial contact with Spring, every question was answered promptly, they worked with us to our requests and the process was so straightforward and completely stress free, they even advised / helped negotiate our onwards purchase. I can’t thank Paul, Aston and Harnish enough! It might not be your conventional way to sell, or you might not get the highest price but the benefits of a quick, easy and worry free sale with great communication really stands out! I would highly recommend to anyone!”

There are no negative recent reviews of the company. However, earlier reviews state that SpringMove offered very low prices.

For example, Lauren Dilieto wrote previously:

“Spring is just another ridiculous waste of time. We were contacted by them after our developer started working with them and put off making any market adjustments to our property until they’d been. 2 estate agents came out and one surveyor. They take the lowest valuation and then knocked off £48,000 off of that as our offer. Absolute joke. Don’t waste your time!”

Is SpringMove Legitimate?

We believe that Spring is a legitimate company. We base our opinion on the fact that the company:

  • Is regulated by several authoritative bodies
  • Has full details of team members on its website
  • Has been featured in several recent press articles that are updated on its website

Have SpringMove Won Any Awards?

The company doesn’t appear to have won any prominent national awards.

They are, however, involved in several charitable enterprises, including a local Croydon charity called Good Food Matters.  Along with other initiatives, they have also partnered with Reedham Children’s Trust.

What Services Does Spring Move Offer?

SpringMove is a Croydon-based cash house buyer, that promises a speedy sale and a completion date of the seller’s choice.

The company also offer a part-exchange service, buying your home to free up funds to put towards the purchase of a new build or existing property.

How Much Below Market Value Do Spring Move Offer?

Spring typically pays up to 80% of market value, though several recent and earlier reviewers have remarked on a relatively low offer from the company.

Here's some advice from our property expert Paul:

"'Most quick-sale companies, including Spring Move, operate within the 75-85% range of market value.

This discount reflects the speed and convenience offered, as well as potential refurbishment costs. I advise sellers to consider whether the trade-off for speed is worth it based on their financial goals and timeline.”

How Does Spring Move Work?

Below is how Spring Move goes about buying your house:

  1. Once you make an enquiry, Spring requests 2 estate agent valuations before they make their no-obligation cash offer.
  2. Following this, Spring will arrange a detailed RICs survey and once they have those results back, they will make you a guaranteed formal offer.
  3. If you accept the offer, you then choose your own move-out date, and Spring will complete the offer during that period.

Our studies have shown that properties sold via quick-sale companies typically sell for 70-85% of market value, with variations depending on location and demand. This aligns with SpringMoves stated offers, but it’s always advisable for homeowners to independently verify their property’s market value before proceeding with any sale.

The Pros And Cons Of Working With SpringMove

Like many similar cash buyers, working with SpringMove to sell your property has its advantages and disadvantages. Here are some of the pros and cons to consider:

The Pros

  • Quick sale: Spring's main goal is to help homeowners sell in a time frame that suits their needs. According to the website, the fastest time from offer to completion is 48 hours. However, it’s more likely that your home will be sold within 14-28 days.

  • Guaranteed sales: Because the company has over £300 million in guaranteed funding, there are no chains or conditional financing that can fall through. Once an offer is accepted by the seller, it's guaranteed to be seen through to the end.

  • Cash buyer: As a cash buyer, Spring will provide you with a competitive cash offer for your property. You won't need to deal with estate agents, banks, or low-ball offers.

  • Inclusive fees: Spring does not charge any extra fees. Their service fee is included directly in the sale of your home.

  • Experience: Spring was established in 2007, which means the company and its team have more than 15 years of experience in the house buying industry.

The Cons

  • Lower cash offer: In many cases, cash buyers will buy your property quickly. However, this often comes at the expense of having to accept an offer that is below market value.

  • Limited reviews: Unlike some of the other cash buyers that we've reviewed in the past, Spring doesn't have all that many customer reviews. They only have about 141 reviews on TrustPilot and do not have any customers reviews on Google.

SpringMove vs Other Quick Sale Companies

Below, we’ve highlighted some of the key differences, such as average sale time, hidden fees and more, compared to other UK house buyers, such as Springbok Properties, Upstix, Home House Buyers, TheAdvisory or Express Offers

In our expert opinion, Spring Move sets itself apart with its strong regulatory framework and reputation.

However, when comparing companies, homeowners should assess additional factors like legal fee coverage, flexibility in negotiations, and transparency in valuations, which can vary significantly between providers.

More advice from our Property Expert Paul:

"When selling with SpringMove or any quick-sale company, I recommend verifying their regulatory status and financial proof upfront. SpringMove has proven funds and regulatory backing, but I’d still advise requesting their latest proof of funds statement and checking their current NAPB membership.

This way, you can be sure you're working with a legitimate buyer who can complete the sale within the promised timeframe."

Spring Move - Our Verdict

Spring is a quick property sale company with guaranteed funds, which means the sale should move as fast as promised.

While Spring has several strong reviews on Trustpilot, the lack of feedback on other platforms is worrisome. In today’s market, online reviews offer important social proof, and some sellers may hesitate to work with a cash buyer that isn’t widely reviewed.

That said, Spring’s excellent Trustpilot ratings, its membership of legitimate property bodies, and transparent company information suggest that it is a trustworthy option for those seeking a quick home sale.
